[ music | When the Levee Breaks - Led Zeppelin ]

We had a store meeting at work on Saturday and one of the issues that were addressed was people being late. I'm one of the guilty ones because I'm late more times than not . . usually no more than like 7 minutes though.
So I thought I'd try and show up to work early today. I rolled in there about 5 minutes before 5 and as soon as I get in the door Brian was like "What are you doin here?" . . Turns out I didn't have to work today.. And Brian was the manager who was supposed to close so I asked him if he wanted to go home. (I figured I might as well work since I was there) Turns out he has a speech he needed to work on for one of his classes tomorrow. So I stayed and closed for him and he's gonna work on Friday night for me, so that's pretty coo..

I didn't mind workin tonight though, because Monday nights are a piece of cake. I had a few visitors come in while I was there. Jeremy came in tonight and got some food courtesy of the Papa. :-) I don't get around to hangin out with him and Mary as much as I used to. But they've got their baby and stuff so they're pretty busy. He said they're looking for a new house now. They're wanting something with at least 5 or 10 acres, so they'll probably be moving out of Clinton but not too far.
This girl came in tonight to pick up a pizza that I hadn't seen since like 4th or 5th grade. I wasn't ever really friends or anything with her, but I recognized the last name and asked it it was her and it was. ..I remember that she got in trouble for eating glue one time... She didn't look anything like what she used to.. .she's prob about 10 times the size she was back then. But not only that, her face just didn't look anything like what I had remembered. She said she's a security guard somewhere..I dunno, I didn't wanna be real nosy. But she didn't look like she was making it all too well. But regardless of all the bad things I stood there and talked with her for the time that it took her pizza to cook. I dunno, even though I don't really know her and wasn't ever really friends with her, I was just kinda curious as to what she had been up to. It was kinda weird cause here's this person that I had no clue what happened to after 4th grade ..(about 12 years).. and then u just see them out of the blue somewhere.
.....Next Visitors: Umm o yah it was Hillary and Marissa. I think they had been next door at the Movie Gallery and came over to say hi before they left. I only got to talk to em for about 5 minutes then I had a couple orders to make so they took off.
Last visitor of the night was Josh. I was cashing John out, getting ready to do the deposit and he I heard someone ringin the door bell because it was locked, and it was him. He had some grape Mad Dog 20/20 that he was getting ready to sip on! lol ..So he came in for a few minutes while I finished things up.

So anyways.. Matt Davis, one of the other managers at work is taking 2 weeks off because his wife finally had her baby today. They named it Elizabeth Grace Davis. It was either 8 or 10 pounds...I think it was 8 because the lady at work said that it was a pretty big baby. So now I'll be workin about a cool 35 hours a week for these next 2 weeks. Yah I'm sure I'll prob be hatin it by the time week 2 rolls around.
Orin wants me and Wayne to go up to Purdue this weekend to visit Joe, but I've gotta work just about every day and I know Wayne prob wouldn't want to go and prob has to work anyways.
I've got my night class tomorrow that everyone will be hating cause we didn't meet last week and it's a pretty boring class. About halfway throuh the class, u can tell that everyone's getting a little antsy and wanting to leave. . .it sux. I think I might possibly be doing somethin with Amanda tomorrow night. She's got a night class too, but its somewhere else on campus. I'm not even sure if we're going to or not ...I'm supposed to call her when I get out of class because she gets out before I do.

Spent a cool $49.53 on gas today [14 Feb 2003|01:31am]
[ mood | tired ]
[ music | Gary, IN - The Grind Family ]

Yeah that's right. . The going price for 30 gallons of gas at $1.61/gallon is about 50 bones. I filled up here in Clinton when I got out of work tonight, because I know that gas in TH is like 1.74 now or some bullshit like that. We need to go over and skull fuck Sadaam so that maybe something can be worked out and Americans can get gas for a buck a gallon. Then everyone would have more money to spend and then maybe the economy would finally get back on track.

..Anyways, I had to work tonight. John Lynch (not the NFL player) was my closing driver tonight. Him and his wife got divorced a couple months ago and he's now wanting to maybe find some ladies to take out but he lacks confidence. I guess after not dating for 9 years that I'd be a little weary of my game too. So he was askin me how he can ask out this lady that works at the bank he goes to. He doesn't know her or anything, but he says that she's been kinda flirty or whatever so I dunno. I just found it a little funny that a 32 year old guy was askin me for advice.

Well it's time for bed. I've got a 98 question test tomorrow in my personal selling class that I need to study for tomorrow. Me and Wayne might hit up the Gatti's buffet tomorrow for dinner before he goes to his night class. But I dunno because somthing about Gatti's food plugs me up for a day or 2. I never noticed it during the 2 and a half years that I put in working there.

ISU COPS CAN SUCK A FAT DICK [31 Jan 2003|01:13am]
[ music | Pocket Full of Stones - UGK ]

I got a $20 ticket today for parking in that lot by the dorms that's supposed to be only for staff or whatever until 5pm or something. I was parked there for about an hour and "the man" had already busted me.

Other than that I had to work tonight. I need to get some sleep because the teacher of my 9:00 called me out when I walked in late on Wednesday. (only cause i was late on monday and the previous friday lol) So I can understand that. The classroom setup is kinda small and you really do interrupt class when you walk in late. Oh well...

Shane and Brian at work talked me into going to Willy Jacks with them on Friday night. I guess they're bringing back that Bikini Bull Riding thing. So it might turn out to be a good time. Chad, TJ, and Rob are gonn go too so there'll be about 5 or 6 of us. I'm off all day Saturday and I don't know what I'm going to do. If it's nice I'll prob round some people up to go 4-dubbin up at the farm. It'll be nice and muddy since everything's melting.

Another Super Bowl Sunday spent at work [27 Jan 2003|12:44am]
[ music | Don't Go Away Mad - Motley Crue ]

I don't think I've been able to watch the game for the past 3 or 4 years because I've always had to work on the night of the game. Oh well.. I got to listen to it at work on the ol AM 1300 but I didn't really get to pay much attention to it. It was kinda busy at the time the game started, and I figure we'd get hammered at halftime with a shitload of orders, but we only got like 4 or 5.

I just realized that I haven't written in here for a month and 4 days. . Jeez, what the hell have I been doing? Anyways, I'm trying to get myself squared away so I can do good this semester. I was able to buckle down at the end of last semester and pulled off 2 B+'s ...2 B's...and a C+ so that was decent.

April called me at work tonight from some party that she was waaasted at. She couldn't remember things that she asked me like a minute before. Hafway through the conversation it was like:
Her: "Where are you at?"
Me: "I'm at work!"
Her: "Oh, well I didn't know" (this was after I had put her on hold earlier for like 2 minutes and she had to listen to the Papa John's away message) I guess she must've just been pretty gondola.

I just got done watching the RealPlayer streams of all the Super Bowl commercials that were on. I'm sure they'll be discussed in at least one of my marketing classes tomorrow.

The usual Sunday routine . . . [23 Dec 2002|02:11am]
[ mood | sore ]
[ music | Young - Kenny Chesney ]

Met up with Shmuck, TJ, Doug, and Shortridge today to go ridin down by the river again. Ryan hadn't had his quad out for like 4 months, so I was glad that he was in attendance today. Brad on the other hand, (my fellow Team Arctic Cat member) managed to puss out once again this weekend. ..That's ok though because we had a temporary replacement for him today. We hadn't even really rode down to the river yet, and we came across this old guy (not old, but prob in his 40's) and guess what he was rollin' on?? Awww a brand new Arctic Cat 400 4x4! This thing was bad-ass! It even had a winch on the front of it too. It was a pretty mean machine..I may have to consider getting a 400 or 500 here in a year or so. The only thing I didn't like about his was that it was automatic and he picked the new lime/neon green color. It's kinda ugly, but we got so much mud on our 4 wheelers today that you couldn't even tell what color they were when we got done. Turns out that the old guy kinda knew Ryan and his dad and he ended up riding with us all day long. It was cool though because he was nutty! He was playin in the mud, taking jumps, and climbin hills just like the rest of us. I figured he'd be takin it easy since he was older but he didn't.

I didn't get home from riding till like 3:30 and I had to work at 4, so I left all my shit in the back of the truck and just ran in to take a shower, shave, and get my uniform on and goto work. I had to deal with jerks all night long at work because halfway through the night we ran out of pepperoni. We've been out of Extra Large dough since mid-Friday night, and we haven't had pepperoncini's to put in the box with the pizza for a couple days either.
Someone at work is stealing money too, and we're pretty sure we know who it is, but not positive. We just don't know what the best way to address the problem is. Put up a memo/sign saying that we know someone is stealing? Or should we actually confront the person that we think is stealing it and talk to them? Oh well, Keary's the GM so I'll let him deal with it, that's why he gets bonuses and several week vacations and I don't ...Fucker!

We got a new printer for our computer today. Its a pretty nice one. Its an HP 2210 that can print/scan/and copy. I haven't got to mess around with it very much. One good thing is that it has slots for memory cards from digital cameras (which im prob gonna buy with xmas money), so that'll come in handy.

Tomorrow holds a day of finishing up christmas shopping, possibly wrapping some presents, and who knows what else. April has to work most of the day, but I might get to see her for a little bit later on in the evening. I wasn't too wore out when I got home from work tonight, so I worked out for about 45 minutes since I've been slackin off lately. Plus all the extra goodies that are around this time of year don't help either.

Ok..Ok...so I hardly write in here anymore . . . [20 Dec 2002|01:20am]
[ mood | tired ]
[ music | Space Age Pimpin' - Eightball & MJG ]

I dunno why, but I just haven't been writing in here for awhile. I'm still gettin' online, just haven't been taking the time to make an entry.

I just got home from work about half an hour ago. Tonight was fuckin nuts! It seemed lik it was a Friday night. ..But then again there were only 3 people working inside and 3 drivers. Papa John's massmailed some coupons this past weekend, and people have bee loooving it a lil too much! I think that from like 5:00 to 8:00 we made close to like 140 pizzas (give or take a few). One thing that I do remember seeing for sure was that we made 54 pizzas (plus bread/cheese sticks and chickenstrips) from 6-7:00.

NEWS FLASH FROM PAPA JOHN'S:
PJ's soon to offer a desert "pizza"
-----Yes, that's right! You heard it here first. Soon after the New Year, the Papa will be offering a new item on their menu. "What is it?", you ask. DrUmRoLL pUhhleEaZe . . . . It's a Cinnapie!! A soft somewhat chewy 6.5 inch diameter pie covered with a cinnamon and butter mix. . . Ran through the oven, and then 6 minutes later out pops a warm little Cinnapie that gets drizzled with this rich, tasty, glaze/icing type of stuff. Man are these things good! They taste like cinnamon rolls, but 20 times better.
-----So yah, a good product, but once again, I believe that Papa John's is stepping over the line here. When they first came out with the chickenstrips, I was like "aww man! now we gotta cook fuckin chicken too??" But they always find a way to add a new item without it being a problem. The chicken really isn't a hassle. Or maybe I've just gotten used to it eh? Yah I think thats prob it. ..Anyways, enough about PJ's

Christmas is like 5 days away or something like that. The only shopping I'v got left is to find one more thing for my sister, and then struggle to find something suitable for April. She won't give me any ideas! She just said to surprise her... It's not fair cause guys are sooo much easier to buy for. She knew exactly what all she was getting for me (and already has it), but I'm just stuck without a clue of what to get her.

I'm off all day tomorrow. Well I guess it's today actually. I know I'm going to workout in the morning because I've been kinda lazy for the past 3 or 4 days and haven't kept to my routine. Then depending on the weather, I might try to find people to come up to the farm with me and ride 4 wheelers. We're def. prob gonna go ridin somewhere this weekend I know that for sure. ..As long as the weather's permitting.

Deer Burger anyone? [12 Dec 2002|02:20pm]
[ mood | accomplished ]
[ music | Charlie Daniels Band - Long Haired Country Boy ]

I got a call the other day from Spendall's and they said my deer meat and summer sausage was ready to be picked up. So I swung by there today after I got my haircut and got it. There was a lot of meat there! I got a whole box full of roasts, burger, several steaks, a couple tenderloins, and 2 rolls of summer sausage. The old lady working there that rang up me up turns out to be old friends with my grandma so I stayed there for a couple minutes talkin to her. She practically knew my whole family!

So anyways...I came home...defrosted some of the burger in the microwave and then threw a burger on the ol George Foreman and cooked one up. It was actually pretty good. I need to find some stuff to add more flavor to it. I used salt, pepper, garlic pepper, and then some Famous Dave's Steak-n-Burger seasoning. But I didn't put a whole lotta stuff on there because I still wanted to see what the base taste of it was like. I think sometime over break here I'm gonna invite a bunch of people over and maybe fix a bit pot of venison chili and cook up some steaks or something. We'll have some beer...play some Xbox and watch some football or something on the big screen.

I haven't wrote in here for like at least a week or so. Last week I was so fuckin busy with group presentations and getting everything all together and ready to go for those that I didnt have time for anything. But they all went really well. The toothbrush presentation was excellent too! All of that hard work actually paid off. . . I should be getting some decent grades this semester except for a possible C in Finance, but oh well.

Final are done with thank god! None of them were really super tough though. My Operations Management class didn't have one so I only had a total of 4. Two on monday, one on Tuesday, didnt have shit on Wednesday, and I had one today and now I'm done.

I had a pretty good dinner last night. April invited me over and cooked up supper all by herself. We had a turkey roast, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, salad, and her mom threw in some macadamian nut(sp?) cookies afterwards. It was hella good. Their little dog, who just so happens to be named "Peppy" even got in on some of the turkey and potato action! I met her dad for the first time last night. He's pretty nice and it seemed like he likes me, so that's good.

Gotta go throw my work shirts in the dryer so I'll have something to wear to work tonight. . . hopefully I'll get to write in here more since I'll be on xmas break for a month.

Yes, I'm still alive . . . [03 Dec 2002|08:47am]
[ mood | sleepy ]
[ music | A Lot of Things Different - Kenny Chesney ]

Man, I haven't wrote in this thing forever. I think the last time was back before Thanksgivng break. I've just been pretty busy doin stuff. Between all of the group meetings, hunting (shotgun season is now over), spending time with April, and working I just kinda forgot about this.

But this is gonna be a short one, because its 8:30 and I've got class in an hour and I still need to take a shower. Good thing I shaved last night or I'd prob be runnin late today. My mom insists on getting me an electric razor, but ever since I switched over to shaving like a real man should (with a blade)I just like it too much to switch back to an electric razor.

Hmm, so let's see ....what did I do over break? I didn't end up going to Fight Night which was the night of the last day of school before break (tuesday night). Chad didn't wanna drive, shane was feelin kinda sick, and the other people I talked to didn't really seem to care if we went or not. So I just went hunting that evening and then I did somethin with April later that night.

Me Shane went hunting Wednesday morning, but we didnt get anything. Wednesday night I had to work. Shane was my closing driver and after we got out we went over to Bobbi's and April was over there. We watched National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. I love that show! Especially Cousin Eddie... he's the shit! I wanna be like him when I grow up! :-)

The Big Kill
Yes that's right folks! Mike finally bagged himselfa buck on Thanksgiving morning!! I was sooo excited when I shot it. I've got a picture that I want to put on here, but I can't figure out how to get it in here. It was a 7 pointer, but he was kinda yooung. It only weighed in around 110 or 115lbs. That'll be plenty of eatin though. Steaks, roasts, burger, and 2 rolls of summer sausage are what I'm getting from it. We had dinner that night fr thanksgiving at my aunt Judy's around 5:30. It was a combination of Thanksgiving and 3 of my cousins birthdays.

Frday and Saturday I didn't have to work. I went to TH friday with Wayne. Both of thesenights I ended up at Boatsie's. Friday I was there with April. Then onSaturday, Chad's brother band was playing and they were really good. It was me, April, Rob, Bobbi, Chad, Joe, and April's friend Tiffany. Man we had a lotta fun that night. I really was glad to see that Rob came out. I didn't think that he really would. Besides a couple spilled drinks (hehe) it was a perfect night. Me and April took off around 1:30 I think and we both ended up stayin the night at Bobbi's house.

I got to take April home in the morning and I finally got to see where she lives at. I picked up some Dairy Queen for breakfast on the way home. I had to work that night from 4-close. Man I better wrap this up. I said it wasnt gonna be a real long one... I've gotta get a shower and hit the road in about 20 minutes!

[ music | One Piece at a Time - Johnny Cash ]

Shane and I went on our first evening hunting excursion this afternoon. Before, we've only been going in the early mornings. . . Neither of us shot anything tonight, but we did see quite a few deer. I was sooo pissed today!! I let shane take the treestand, and I was just gonna hunt on the ground. Well, when I'm walking along the edge of the field to get where I was going to position myself at, guess what I did? Scared up about 6 or 7 deer from this little brush pile and they took off running all about 15 yards ahead of me! I had my seat in one hand and my gun was slung ove my shoulder. So by the time I dropped my shit, got my gun up to the my shoulder and took aim, all I had was an ass shot on maybe 2 of em. I guess I could've took out their legs :-)

But anyways I got to where I was goin and we were out in the woods till a little after 6. Killing time officially ended a little before 6 (half hour after sunset), but we stayed out there a little longer. We got plenty of practice with our radio slang today on Shane's 2-way's. This time instead of being code name "Rubber Ducky" I was Hunter #1 and he was Hunter #2. I have fun fuckin around on those cause they have like a 5 mile range and its sometimes clearer than a cell phone. Plus I have some experience under my belt with using trucker lingo from having that CB in my truck. He gets a kick outta some of the crazy shit that I'll say on there.

I went to Bobbi's house tonight because April was over there and they had a hamburger and scalloped potatoes waitin on me for when I got out of my group meeting. Bobbi went to bed around 10 so we just watched some dinner and a movie thing that was on TNN..or TNT? (whoever has that dinner & a movie thing). Tonight was a movie with Dolly Parton in it. I never did find out what it was called. I know it wasn't 9 to 5. I took off around 12:30 and April did too because she had to drive back home.

FIGHT NIGHT tomorrow at the fairgrounds! I hope that Chad, Wayne, and some other people end up deciding to go. It'll be a blast. Its put on by Hooters, Budweiser, and Little Kings cigars or something like that. Boxing is always funner to watch live anyways, so we'll have a good time if we go.

I'm getting so sick and tired of all the fucking group meetings. I've been to school once a day for classes. But I was there twice on last Monday, last Wednesday, and this Monday (today). I was also down there on Saturday and Sunday for meetings. Tuesday's the last day of school before thanksgiving break right? NOPE, gotta meet with another group on wednesday. At least this one is being held in Clinton.

What's the active ingredient in beer that always gives you a bad case of the shits the next morning?? I suppose the Pizza Hut I had before I went out drinking might've had something to do with it too.
I'm nt hungover or anything, and I really don't feel all that bad. My stomach's just kinda not at ease...

What a waste! [21 Nov 2002|01:14am]
[ mood | thoughtful ]
[ music | Lightning Crashes - Live ]

We had a group meeting tonight at school. Three of the people were there at 6, and me and Dustin told em that we couldn't be there till 7:00. Well we get there, and yah we worked on stuff for a little bit...but by about 8:30 or so, Yuri an Jason took off. Sonya and Dustin stuck around for a little bit but then we all took off soon after that. I just hope we can get this project done on time and have it turn out to be halfway decent. We didn't get a whole lot done tonight. We're meeting again on Sunday aound noon, which is going to suck, because I planned on going hunting and then I have to work at 4:00.

I didn't have a very productive day at school today. Missed my 10:00 because I overslept. I was out kinda late the night before because I had to work and when I got off, I was invited to a friends house to meet a certain someone. So I went there after I closed up the Papa and ended up staying there till like 2:30! I couldn't believe it was so late. ...I skipped my 11:00 class because today was Chad's 21st birthday and Me, Ashley, and Casey, took Chad to Applebee's for lunch and we all had a few drinks before we went back to our 12:00 class that we all have together. It was pretty fun goin to class kinda messed up.

After I got outta school I came home and went straight up to the farm. That new building that we're getting put in up there is coming right along. I was up there yesterday and all they had up was the frame. But today they had all of the sides on it and the big sliding door on the front was installed too. My Wal-Mart hook-up thiefed me some camo burlap to put around the DeerSlayer treestand that was put up a couple weekends ago. So I took the staple gun and some other supplies and made a nice "skirt" type of deal around the tree stand to hide it. It's lookin pretty nice now.

I left the farm around 6:15, had to fly home, wolfed down hamburger real quick, and then had to go down to school for that stupid meeting that I talked about ealier. When I got out, Ryan called me and he had just got outta his night class at Ivy Tech and I met up with him at Pizza Hut and we had some pizza and breadsticks. Then we hooked up with Chad (the brthday boy) and went to Simrell's. I hadn't ever been there before and neither had Ryan so it was the first time for all of us. We met up with Chad's friend Brian while we were there. Chad had like 17 shots in ohhh a little over 2 hours. He's gonna be hating it tomorrow! We had a good time for it just being a Wednesday night. . . One complaint though . .I think there was maybe a total of 5 or 6 chicks there at one time in the whole time that we were there. It was a big sausage-fest! I didn't really get drunk tonight or anything. I had to drive home for one, but I only had like 4 beers maybe. I could've had more, but I dunno . . I haven't gone out for awhile, and I guess that I'm just not used to blowing 25+ bucks in one sitting for beer (my shit plus a couple drinks/shots for Ryan and Chad). So I was drinking conservatively tonight.

I called my new friend April tonight to see if she'd wanna go out with us after she got out of some meeting tonight that she had at Sam's. She finally called me back when the meeting was over and said that she was at a friends house and was gettin ready to go out. So I'm like "you should come by simrell's . ." She said they might, ..they never showed up. But anyways, she said she'd call me tomorrow so we'll see if she actually does or not.

..ANyways, Im ready to crash. Ive got so much shit due for school coming up and it just seems like I have no motivation to get it done early. Oh well . . I need to be getting to bed so that I can make it to marketing in the morning and find out what I got on the test we had Tuesday.

What a long weekend . . [18 Nov 2002|10:14pm]
[ mood | busy ]
[ music | Cadillac Pimpin' - Youngbloodz ]

Friday
Joe was supposed to be coming home from Purdue, but his ass never showed up. So as far as I know, he never came home because I didn't hear from him and neither did Wayne. I did see his truck at his house once, but his dad could've been driving it because he works somewhere in Lafayette and sometimes gets Joe's truck if he's gonna be needing it to do work at home or something.

So I ended up hangin out with Audrey for a little bit. We went and ate at the Olive Garden. It was hella good! That was only the 2nd time I've ever been there. I had the Tour of Italy...it's lasagna, fettucini alfredo, and chicken parmigian (sp?). That plus breadsticks and a huge ass salad made for a pretty good meal. After that we went and watched this play that was being put on in Dreiser Hall. It was kinda strange...but I liked it. It's not too often that I attend functions such as those so I enjoyed it. I almost dozed off for just a little bit because it was dark in there and I had a full belly so my body thought it was nap time. But I snapped out of it and woke up after that.

Audrey took off after the play was over, so I went down to Super Wal-Mart and K-mart to mess around and check out the hunting supplies. This is kinda corny because of where it happened at, but I actually met 2 new girls that night...one in each store. In Wal-Mart I saw this girl Bobbi that I went to high school with and she was with a friend (i think her name's April...not to be confused with my friend April from Newport). ...Anyways Bobbi's real open about stuff and was all like tryin to hook me up with that April girl right there on the spot. She was gettin kinda embarassed. ...Then at K-mart I met this girl that works at LS Ayers that I recognized... We talked for about 5 or 10 minutes and then I had to go. I think this one might be too old for me though...but I can't tell. I'm gonna have my friend Ashley that works there do some research for me.

Saturday . . . 1st day of GUN SEASON for huntin' deer
-Woke up around 5am today to pack up the truck and get ready for the big hunting excursion. I had only got about 3 hours of sleep, but I didn't care because I was too excited. Shane (a fellow coworker) was my hunting companion for the day and he got to my house a little after 6. By then I had the 4 wheeler already loaded up, truck was gettin warm, and we just had a few things to pack and we were ready to go.
-We got up to the farm around 7 and went in the trailor to put on our overalls and get all of our shit rounded up. After sippin on some hot chocolate we headed out for the woods and were out there and ready to kill by 8:00. Not qute as early as we hoped for because it was already getting light out, but that's ok. Neither of us got anything this day, but we each saw a few does, but none of em were close enough to shoot. Except for this one that ran up on Shane in the woods. He said it got about 10 yards away from him and then darted off once it saw him. He didn't have any doe tags, so he couldn't have shot it anyways.
-After about 2 and a half hours we radioed eachother and decided to hang it up for the day. But after that we went scoutin in the woods to find where the sweet spots are.

-I had to work Saturday night from 5-close and it wasn't busy or anything, but I was stil pretty tired from gettin up so early.

Sunday
Me and Shane went hunting again, except we both slept in a little too long. I didn't wake up till about 5:30 and Shane would've slept till noon if I hadn't called him! He made it to my house and we were on the road around 7:30. It was snowing when I woke up this morning. It quit by about 8:00 or so though.

We didn't bag any trophy bucks this day either. Saw a couple but once again they werent close enough to shoot. We stopped at Green Acres on the way home and picked up a dozen of hot rolls. Those things are the bomb-diggy! We each ate one on the way back home. After we got back I unloaded the truck and then went inside, layed down and crashed. I was dead tired.

I had to work at 4 and barely made it there on time. The whole night dragged by because it was soooo slooooow. We didn't have a single order after 9:00! ..And we don't close until 11! Well, I closed around 10:30 that night. Maxwell tried callin a little after 10:30 and I saw it was his # on the caller ID so I didnt answer it because I knew he'd want a delivery. I don't have anything against him...just that even if it had been someone else I still wouldn't have answered it. Plus Shane was my closing driver and we were both draggin ass by this time so I knew he wouldn't have wanted to take any more runs.

Monday (today)
Went to school...had some sub connection for lunch while I was at a group meeting from 1-2. Then I came home and tried catching up on some sleep that I missed out on this weekend. Woke up around 5 to work on a paper for little bit. Then I ate supper and had to go back down to school for anoher group meeting at 6. We got outta there around 8 or so, then I went down to the mall to return a couple shirts that I bought a while back and the sleeves weren't long enough...gee, imagine that?

Anyways, I gotta go study for a marketing test tomorrow. The fun just never stops.. . ..

Homework sucks! [14 Nov 2002|01:36am]
[ music | Shine - Collective Soul ]

It's about 1:30 in the AM and I've been doin homework all night. I was getting ready to goto bed but I was kinda hungry 'cause I didn't really eat supper tonight. So I fixed a little one piece of bread ham sandwich and warmed up a little bit of left over chili that my dad made the other day. So I figured I'd write in this while I was munchin'.

My mom said no getting in the hot tub till after Saturday! Apparently we need a new filter becase the old one was clogged or something? So it's closed for the time being, but it'll be ready to go next week.

A couple of my marketing classes were full when I tried signing up, so I may only be taking 12 hours this upcoming semester, but I'm not sure. I got my name on 3 different lists in case a spot opens up. But I still need one hour of "D" credit (history classes) and none of the ones fulfilling that were very appealing. So I signed up for a history of architecture class. It'll be the first class I've ever had in the technology building.

Yesterday I was at the Super Wal-Mart in TH and I ran into this girl named Danielle that I had met at the festival like 3 years ago. I never really got to know her very well because I only saw her a couple times over that Labor Day weekend a long time ago. She's a cashier there and I guess she's some kinda dance instructor too or something. I hadn't seen her for awhile and I actually caught her on her 15 minute break so we got to talk for about 5 or 10 minutes. Turns out her dad passed away 2 months ago from cancer and they had to move out of where they were or something.. I dunno? I guess she just wrecked this Durango that I guess she had, and now she's drivin a 98 or 99 drop top camaro. Her BF that she was engaged to is gettin ready to be shipped off to boot camp and I guess they're holding off on the whole engagement thing or something.

I think Joe's coming home from Purdue this weekend so maybe I'll actually get to see that dude for once. I've never made it up there to visit him yet this year. Probably should sometime since I'm always off on Fridays. I can't go up there for a few weeks though because gun season is near and I'll prob be going hunting on Saturday mornings until I get one.

Well I'm full now and my chili's all gone so I'm gonna get to bed. . No marketing tomorrow (Clark's outta town), but the toothbrush group wants to meet at regular class time. I haven't gotten anything new accomplished since the meeting on Monday so I dunno what we're gonna do. Oh well. . .

Work tonight [10 Nov 2002|02:55am]
[ music | Midnight Rider - Allman Brothers Band ]

So I drop everyone off when we came home from the farm and came home and unloaded the truck...showered, shaved, and made it to work at 5:00 on the dot. When I walked in they're all like "You're early today" (i figured they said that because I always stroll in there about 5 to 10 minutes late..but its never a big deal there). Well I was looking at the schedule to see who I was working with and noticed "Ohh I wasn't supposed to have been here till 6:00!" I was an hour early! I ended up staying anyways...can't ever hurt to make some extra money, right?

It was busy from about 5:30 - 7:00 and then it slowed down a lot. We grossed about a thousand more dollars than we normally do on Saturday nights. Tonight at work I got people talkin and generating ideas to create a Top 10 Customer "I hate.." list. You know . . like when people call to order and then have no freekin clue of what they want. So then you hafta stand there while they ask their whole family what they want.

..So anyways ..got out of work around 12:45 and came home. And now here I am. I'm ready to submit this, respond to some comments, and then I'm heading to bed. My lower back has hurtin all night. I dunno it it's from climbing up and down the tree all day or what. It's prob from trying to get that god damn cart out of the creek bed. That pissed me off! It kinda put a damper on the whole day too, but the Deerslayer is erected and awaiting gun season.

Well its time to crash...

*-*-*-Creation of The Deerslayer-*-*-* [10 Nov 2002|02:46am]

[ music | Plush - STP ]

Damn it's been a long day... I got up at 8 this morning and packed shit up to go hang one of our treestands at the farm. I scooped up Cale and then went to get Jeremy Joooones (the o's are an inside joke) around 9. Then we went to the lumberyard to get some lag bolts and more nails. After that we headed for Newport, but first we stopped at Green Acres to fill our bellies before we embarked on our mission. Me and Jeremy had some biscuits and gravy, OJ, scrambled eggs, and a hot roll (the rolls are the shit up there!). Cale had the "Country Boy" breakfast platter. It was too bad we left there when we did because as we were leaving, a couple hot chicks came in and were bringing in stuff to set up the banquet room for a bridal reception or something.

..So anyways, we get to the farm...unload the 4-wheeler, and put all of our building supplies and the platforms in the back of this big heavy-ass cart that my old man made. This thing prob weighs close to 400 pounds. The Arctic Cat pulls it just fine, but if you're hauling it on the trails or steep hills it's a BITCH! Cause I mean it's just like 400 pounds of dead weight and its big and awkward. So we hitch it to the 4 wheeler and headed off to find a good tree. Me and Cale found a good one Thursday when we were up there and that's the one we ended up using today. Well we had just walked to this tree. So I was like well I'm gonna go bring the 4 wheeler and the cart over here...be back in a couple minutes.
Well.. to get to this tree we walked on one of the trails which wasn't very dense, but we had to cross this creek bed and then go up a hill that wasn't too steep. So here I come pullin the cart and I had been doin a good job of drivin with it not hittin any trees and shit... ..well it comes time to cross the creek bed and go up that hill that I mentioned. I got down in the creek bed just fine, but when it came time to go up that hill....aww it wont fuckin make it! Normally when I'm not pullin anything it goes up it just fine in 2wd. Well I had it in 4wd and then dropped it down into the "granny" gear to go up this hill and it just wasn't gonna make it. A big part of the prob was the little ledge to get up out of the creek bed. And I couldn't get the tires of the cart over that. We messed with it for about 20 minutes and saw it was gonna take some work so we're like "Fuck it!" So we unhooked the cart and just carried our supplies up to the tree we were gonna be workin on. It was only like 20 yards away so it wasn't a big prob.

So we hang this tree stand right? This son of a bitch took some ingenuity! ..Good thing we had Jeremy with us because he's full of ideas and he's just good at building stuff. For those of you who don't know Jeremy, he's kinda like ..dare I say Superman? LoL It seems like he can do just about everything, ..he just knows a lot about practically anything you could ask him, and he's a really hard worker. I've also seen this dude swinging from rafters and climb trees like a monkey so he was just the right person for the job today. Needless to say, this treestand was going to be fabulous!

We started out by screwing our step pegs into the tree to climb it and then three and a half hours later, ..it was complete. It took a lot of work but this thing isn't going anywhere! The platforms that we built Thursday are made out of 2x4's and 3/4" plywood and was 3ft x 4ft. So it's sturdy as hell but was kinda heavy and hard to maneuver and work with once we got it up in the tree. We've got it secured with steel cable that has a working load of like 1,500lbs so there shouldn't be anything to worry about (knock on wood). ..But yah, it turned out real nice and it's prob about 14 feet off the ground and its on the top of a hill that overlooks the creek bed. We also found a bunch of scrapes and rubs in the vicinity so we think it's going to be a good spot. I think I'm naming that stand "The Deerslayer"

By now its about 2:15 and Cale's supposed to work at 3:00. But the dillema at hand was getting that big ass cart up the hill. We couldnt turn around and go the way I came because it would've been impossible. Cale was definitely gonna be late for work and things were looking grim. I didn't know how we were gonna get it out.. Finally I just decided to hike back to the truck and somehow nigger-rig it so i can pull that cart up the hill. So I had to drive it through the field and get to the edge of the woods close to where we were. The nearest edge was prob a good 70 yards away and uphill from where the cart was. But there were trees and all kinds of ill shit in the way..keeping me from just pulling straight in. I found a little opening and backed in as much as I could but it still wasn't much. So we hook up my chain, the tow strap, and about 100 feet of rope to the truck and got it out of there with no problems.

After that we put all of our supplies up back at the trailers, packed shit up, and hustled home. By this time, it's like almost 4:00. I couldn't remember if I had to be at work at 4 or 5, Cale was already late, and Jeremy had an auction to goto at 5:00. Jesus, why do some of my entries just go on forever and ever and ever? Maybe I should write stories or something for a living instead of going into marketing.

Yesterday I had Josh, Cale, and El Duche' come over and help me build the platforms for our tree stands. (those guys will prob go hunting with me so i figured they could help build em) We had a good time putting them together. None of us had really like built or constructed anything for a LONG time so I think they enjoyed it. It was good time though . . I kinda had to be the supervisor and keep everyone busy so that we could get em built and then go up to the farm to hang em.

Brad (who was gonna take his 4 wheeler up there with us to help) pussed out on going, so we had to pack my wheeler, tools, boards, sawhorses, and the platforms all in the back of my truck. We did't end up leaving my house till about 5:00. And considering it gets dark at like 6:00 anymore, we didn't have much time to do anything. When we first got up there we went out in the woods to scout for scrapes and to find the perfect trees to put these things in. By the time we got done looking it was getting to dark to do any work so we just stored the platforms and all that shit in the semi-trailer that's up there. After that we made a little fire and sat around it for awhile till those guys had to leave.

I came home and had some warmed up Manwich that my parents had for supper and fixed a big salad to go with it. After I ate I got on line and Audrey said that she had just put some chocolate chip cookies in the oven, but didn't have any milk or anyone to share them with. I said, "Well we've got some milk.." So she said something like "Well how bout I bring em over there and we can go hot tubbin?" Sounds good to me!

So she came over and we had some cookies then we got in the hot tub for awhile. ..And either I wrinkle real easy or we were in there for longer than it felt like. Because when I got out my fingers looked like huge ass prunes! I've never seen em that wrinkly before. After we got out and dried off we just sat and channel surfed the boob tube for awhile. Finally I got tired of flippin channels so I just left it on Comedy Central and we watched a couple old episodes of SNL. Audrey took off around 2 in the morning or so to venture back down to school. After that I crashed and went to bed.

As of 3:13pm today I stil haven't had a smoke!

Went to Rural King today after school to get some hunting supplies and stuff for making our tree stands tomorrow. My friend Ashley that works there gave me her employee discount and saved me about 7 or 8 bucks so that was cool.

I'm going by Menards either tonight after my group meeting at school gets out tonight, or tomorrow after school. I need some 2x4's, a sheet or two of plywood, nails and wood screws, and 2 lengths of chain, each approximately 8 feet long or so.

Sonya's pretty much back with her ex-boyfriend, so that puts me out of any possible chance that I might've had. I never have very good luck .. . seems like that kinda stuff always happens to me.

..Anyways, I've got a bunch of crap to get done before I have to venture back down to school... AGAIN! I need to write off all the miles and gas on my taxes as part of an educational expense!

Jesus, I dunno what it was tonight, but EVERYBODY and i do mean everybody ordered pizza. Tuesday's are always slow as hell, usually only requiring 2..maybe 3 people in the store, and 2 drivers. Well this evening, it was me and Keary running the store inside. I came in at 4 and he came in at 5. And this is no shit: From abut 4:30 to a little past 6:30 (a good solid 2 hours) we were SLAMMED. And I mean slammed to the point where for that whole time you are constantly busy. Not even time to like get a drink or scratch your nutz or anything! :-)
When he walked in the door at 5:00, I was the only one in the store at the time because my driver was on a run. Here's what he walks into: I'm taking an order on the phone...PLUS there's 5 other lines on hold waiting to have their orders taken. I've already got a full screen of pizzas to make and the oldest ones had been on the screen for like 15 minutes already and I hadn't even gotten started on making them because there was so much shit goin on.
...So here's the two of us answering phones, cheking out customers, cutting pizzas, slapping out dough, and putting on toppings for what seemed like eternity. The phone just wouldn't stop ringing and it sucked becase normally there's a phone/cashier person who stays at the counter the whole time and just does that. I pulled up an hourly production report on the PC at work and from 4-7:00 we had made a total of 115 pizzas or so. That's not counting cheesesticks, breadsticks, or chickenstrips. .....But anyways, we made it through the night, he left a 8:30 and then me and Shane finished the night out.

On a more positive note . . .
I have remained substance free for over 24 hours now! No cigarettes ...no NOTHING. I dunno if I'll be able to keep it up or not, but I guess that it can't hurt to try. ..Right? It all started when I smoked the last cigarette in my pack at Cale's on Monday night. I didn't buy any on the way home, therefore I didn't have any smokes for the ride to school this morning. So I was kinda like "hmm i wonder how long i can go without one?" ...So here it's been an entire day. I don't really feel as if I'm feigning for one or anything which is a suprise after the night I had at work. But believe me, sittin down with a nice Camel in my hand crossed my mind about a gazillion times. I could prob quit it I really wanted to. ...I guess we'll see what happens . ....Place your bets for when I'll have my next smoke!

There wasn't really a retarded customer of the day this evening. There's only one that came close and it was a guy who calls and says: "Yes hello, I would like to order a hot Ham & Cheese sandwich please."

--> OK FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T KNOW, PAPA JOHNS DOES NOT CARRY A HOT HAM AND CHEESE SANDWICH...NOR A COLD ONE. ..MATTER OF FACT WE DON'T MAKE ANY FUCKING SANDWICHES! WE DON'T HAVE PASTA .. WE DON'T HAVE SALADS..THERE IS NO LASAGNA ..WE DON'T SERVE SOUP, ..AND WE DEFINITELY DON'T HAVE DESSERTS! THIS IS ALL OF THE DUMB SHIT I HAVE TO PUT UP WITH PEOPLE CALLING AND ASKING ABOUT EVERYDAY.

---> Another thing...cheesesticks...u know? CHEESESTICKS...yah that's what they're called there. NOT "Cheesy Bread" and defnitely not "Cheesy Pies". (i hear them called these things every day) AND ALSO they only come in one size. At PJ's there is no family order of cheesesticks ..or breadsticks for that matter. There's only one size!

---> Our thick crust is hand-tossed. There is no "deep-dish" pizza at the Papa... And another thing, our small pizzas ARE NOT "personal pan" pizza's so quit calling them that!

---> Desserts? Hmmmm, no! We do not serve cinnamon sticks and there definitely aren't any fruit pizzas to be found at Papa Johns.

SO QUIT CALLING AND ASKING FOR DUMB SHIT THAT WE DON'T SERVE! Do I look like the god damn MCL Cafeteria?? Do people think we have a smorgasbord or something? ALSO . . .I am not Pizza Hut nor am I Little Ceasar's, Mr. Gattis, or Pizza Magia. YOU DON'T ORDER A FUCKING BIG MAC AT HARDEE'S DO YA? DO YOU STROLL IN TO THE LOCAL WENDY'S AND ASK FOR THE BIG BUFORD?? FUCK NO U DONT, THAT'D BE STUPID. WELL SO IS THE SHIT THAT I'VE BEEN TALKIN ABOUT!! I GUESS PEOPLE JUST AUTOMATICALLY GET DUMBER WHEN THEY GET ON THE PHONE SINCE ITS NOT RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE AT A BURGER PLACE.
